Dr. Keith J. Kalish attended a seminar sponsored by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons titled "Complications 2016 Seminar, Minimize Your Complications - Maximize Your Patient Outcomes" in New York, NY. Dr. Kalish continues to attend educational seminars to provide his patients with the best and up to date podiatric care.
The staff members of Kalish Foot Care @ OCVB attended the annual Florida Podiatric Seminar January 15- 17, 2016 in Orlando, Florida. Elizabeth Paulen Kalish and Shannon Burnett sat for their podiatric x-ray assistant certification on January 17 and passed with flying colors. Jennifer Hagstrand also attended to obtain continuing education hours to maintain her certification. The medical assistants in the Podiatry Department at OCVB take continuing education hours annually to maintain their license to maintain high standards of care.
Dr. Kalish was awarded a certificate of appreciation to recognize his extraordinary service to the We Care program of Indian River County on January 27th, 2015 at the Vero Beach Hotel. We Care is a program that helps provide treatment for residents who are otherwise financially unable to afford specialty health care. Dr. Kalish and his staff are proud to be part of We Care in efforts to give back to the community.
- November 2011~ Health Fair
The office of Dr. Keith Kalish participated in the Sebastian City Employee Health Fair on November 8, 2011 at Sebastian City Hall. We also participated in the Tropical Isles Community Health Fair on November 8, 2011 in their Community Club House on. We Provided educational material along with answers to many questions from participants of the health fair. We also displayed our many foot care products, orthotics, and diabetic shoes that we offer in our office.
- February 2011~ We Care Volunteers 2010
The We Care Program provides free medical services to patients in Indian River County who cannot otherwise afford medical care. Dr Keith Kalish is one of the many doctors to volunteer his time and services with the We Care Program in 2010.
- Janurary 2011 ~Dr. Kalish and staff attends the annual FPMA meeting.
Dr. Keith Kalish and staff attended the 2011 Florida Podiatric Medical Associations's Scientific and Management Seminar (SAM) January 20th through January 23rd in Orlando, Florida. The SAM is sponsored by the Florida Poditric Medical Association and their educational mission is to promote continuing education to Podiatrists in podiatric medicine, surgery, and practice management through workshops and seminars. By offering this seminar, they assist in the improvement of patient care by promoting the benefits of scientific advancement in the treatment, prevention, and alleviation of podiatric ailments.
Dr. Kalish attended general meetings which reviewed the current techniques and concepts of commonly encountered problems relating to the treatment of the foot, ankle, and leg. He attended a cadaver workshop titled Locking Plates with Transfixation Screw Technology. Also reviewed were the current laws and rules which regulate the practice of podiatry in Florida.
Staff members Crystal Coburn and Jennifer Hagstrand attended the Board-certified X-ray Certification program and sat for the examination.
- May 26, 2010 ~ ABPS Recertification Exam
Dr. Kalish has passed his recertification exam with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS). This certification indicates that a podiatric surgeon has demonstrated a cognitive knowledge of podiatric surgery, including the diagnosis of general medical problems and surgical management of foot diseases, deformities, and /or trauma, along with those structures which affect the foot and ankle. Dr. Kalish was initially board certified in 1992, recertified in 2002, and now in 2010. The qualifications to be eligible to take this board certification exam include completion of a four-year doctoral training at a Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) accredited podiatric medical school, completion of a residency training program approved by the CPME, submission of a list of procedures through Podiatry Logging Service for Surgery demonstrating a diversity of surgical experience in foot surgery, approval by the ABPS Credential Committee of complete foot surgery case documentation of procedures selected by ABPS from the list of procedures, and passing Part I and Part II of the Certification in Foot Surgery Examination. Dr. Kalish is also certified by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedic and Primary Podiatric Medicine and is a fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association. He is on staff at Indian River Medical Center, Grove Place Surgery Center, Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Fort Pierce Surgery Center.
- March 13-15, 2009 ~ 58th Annual Under the Oaks Fine Art Show
Dr. Kalish and staff were proud sponsors of the 58th Annual Under the Oaks Fine Arts and Crafts Show held at Riverside Park in Vero Beach. the show was well attended, in spite of the rain on Sunday, with over 70,000 visitors. The sponsorship received from Dr. Kalish will be used to help support the scholarship awards provided each year to local high school students. Dr. Kalish is proud to support the arts on the Treasure Coast.
- March 6, 2009 ~ Sneaker Exchange
The office of Dr. Keith J. Kalish supports and sponsors the "Sneaker Exchange", a program of the Education Foundation of Indian River County.
Beth Kalish, a representative from our office helped over 30 children with the fitting of their new shoes at the Payless Shoe Store in Vero Beach. The students were from Highlands Elementary School. Dr. Kalish and staff know the importance of quality shoes to keep your feet healthy and are proud to give back to the community.
- March 8, 2009 ~ Backus Gallery Brunch
Dr. Keith Kalish sponsored the music for the Annual Backus Galley Brunch at the gallery in downtown Ft. Pierce. The music was performed by the La Petite String Quartet, comprised of string players from the Vero Beach High School Orchestra.
- February 22, 2009 ~ 38yh Annual Sunrunners Race
The office of Dr. Keith J. Kalish was the proud sponsor of the 38th Annual Sunrunners 10K held February 22, 2009 in South Beach Park in Vero Beach. The sponsorship included donated goodie bag items and a gift of foot care products for one of the winning runners.
Over 600 runners attended the race from the Treasure Coast as well as many other areas and states. Dr. Kalish and staff are proud to support healthy activities on the Treasure Coast.
- January 2009 ~ Kalish Attends Science Symposium
Keith J. Kalish, D.P.M., attended the 25th annual Science and Management Symposium hosted by the Florida Podiatric Medical Association on January 14-18, 2009 in Orlando. He attended the general meeting which reviewed the current techniques and concepts of commonly encountered problems relating to the treatment of the foot, ankle, and leg. Also reviewed were the current laws and rules which regulate the practice of podiatry in Florida. Kalish also attended two additional hands-on workshop. The Orthomed cadaver workshop instructed participants in updated techniques for treatment of the first metatarsophalangeal joint correction. The Metasurg workshop demonstrated the latest techniques on bone fixation of the foot. Kalish has been treating patient on the Treasure Coast for 23 years with offices in Indian River and St. Lucie Counties. He is on staff at both Indian River Medical Center and Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.
- December 2008 ~ Kalish Joins Wound Care Association
Dr. Keith J. Kalish D.P.M, P.A. is proud to announce becoming an active member of the American Professional Wound Care Association. As a fellow on the APWCA, Dr. Kalish joins multiple specialties to enhance the care of all non-healing wounds. The APWCA's mission is accomplished through a multidisciplinary approach to clinical care, professional education and patient advocacy. Dr. Kalish has offices in Indian River and St. Lucie counties.
- December 2008 ~ Mildred DeWitt honored
The office of Dr. Keith J. Kalish honored their 20,000th patient, Mildred DeWitt, with a gift bag of foot care products, much to her surprise. Kalish and staff have been treating patients on the Treasure Coast for over 22 years. He is a dual board certified medical and surgical foot specialist with offices in both Indian River and St. Lucie Counties. Kalish is on staff at Indian River Medical Center, Grove Place Surgical Center, Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and the Surgery Center of Fort Pierce. The state of the art office focuses on all aspects of podiatric foot care including preventative treatment and foot surgery. We provide comprehensive diabetic foot care, wound care programs and peripheral vascular testing.

- April 2008 ~ Dr. Keith Kalish named to State University
Dr. Keith J. Kalish D.P.M.P.A. has been appointed as a part-time, clinical supervising faculty member of the Florida State University College of Medicine for two academic years. He will teach students from Florida State University, Fort Pierce Regional campus in his offices. They will receive in-depth training in podiatric medicine and patient care. Kalish has offices in Indian River and St. Lucie counties. He is on staff at Indian River Medical Center and Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.
